Sony Pictures Classics Thrilled Lee's Movie

To Lee Toland Krieger's "Celeste and Jesse Forever", Sony Pictures Classics has acquired all rights for North America, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg star in the film as high school sweethearts who get divorced and attempt to remain best friends while pursuing other relationships.

With Will McCormack, who co-stars along with Chris Messina, Ari Graynor, Emma Roberts and Elijah Wood, Jones wrote the script. Team Todd principals Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd produced the pic with Lee Nelson of Envision Media Arts, which financed the film.

UTA's Independent Film Group was negotiating the deal. "No recent movie is more current, more perceptive or more fun than 'Celeste and Jesse Forever,'" Sony Classics said in a statement. "Lee Toland Krieger has made a major film. The cast is superlative and it is an obvious labor of love for Rashida Jones and Will McCormack."

"We are thrilled our film has found a home with Sony Pictures Classics and are incredibly excited to work with Michael (Barker), Tom (Bernard) and Dylan (Leiner). Their track record is unparalleled." In a joint statement, the producers said.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011

The world watched as Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima strutted her stuff down the runway at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011, wearing some of the most exquisite boudoir ensembles.

Lima is a 30-year-old Brazilian bombshell and mother to two-year-old daugther Valentina; and she worked it like a pro during the Fashion Show broadcast on CBS Tuesday night.

The brunette beauty, and one of the most popular VS Angels, wore one of the centerpiece garments from the "I Put a Spell on You" collection. Creative designer for the VS show, Todd Thomas, explained the inspiration behind these looks.

"In putting together 'I Put a Spell on You,' we were really trying to creative the idea of steamy, sultry turn-of-the-century New Orleans."

The black-wings paired with deep purple lingerie outfit worn by Lima was beloved by the model herself. "This is my favorite outfit ever," she said. She embodied the fusion of "innocence and sensuality," said Thomas.

However, there is more to Lima than meets the eye (though most are content with leaving it at just that).

In a behind-the-scenes interview with the Angels, fellow VS models revealed some interesting facts about the Brazilian superstar.

"Adriana off the runway is a crazy boxer," said Behati Prinsloo.

"Adriana - if she wants to do something, she'll do it. She's unstoppable," said Erin Heatherton.

"She's like Superwoman," said Candice Swanepoel.

During the interview, a clip of Lima fiercely boxing played. Then the 'unstoppable' beauty held up her scraped knuckles. Pretty hardcore.

The supermodel is also known for her charitable work at orphanages and donations to children suffering life-threatening diseases.

Lima took to Twitter before the show to get everyone excited. "Watch tonight 9ET, Victoria Secrets Pre Show Live!@VictoriasSecret #VSFashionShow..... See you soon!!! Have a surprise ;)" she posted.

After the show, she tweeted again, thanking all of her fans for their never-ending support. "I would like to thank all of my Twitter fans!!! I really appreciate all of your love and support!!!"

Wednesday was Mindy McCready's 36th birthday, but...

Fox News

Country singer Mindy McCready said Wednesday she probably will not be able to bring her 5-year-old son back to Florida to fulfill a judge's order by Thursday afternoon -- because she is nearly seven months pregnant with twins. By not returning as ordered, she risks arrest.

Speaking exclusively to The Associated Press, Mindy McCready said she and her mother have had a long custody battle over the boy, Zander. Her mother was awarded guardianship in 2007.

The battle became more public this week, when the Florida Department of Children and Families said a missing person report was filed with police after Mindy McCready took Zander from her father's home. McCready was able to visit with the boy there under a court order, and the 36-year-old singer said she had spent much of the past month with her son at the home. Her mother and father are divorced.

McCready alleges that her son suffered abuse while living at her mother's home and that is one reason why she left with the boy last week.

"I'm a mom first," said Mindy McCready from Nashville, Tennessee. "No matter what happens, I'm going to protect my kid. If I have to go to jail, so be it."

When reached at her home Wednesday night, McCready's mother, Gayle Inge, said the abuse allegations are "absolutely not true."

During the interview with the AP, a tearful McCready recounted a messy and confusing tale of court custody battles and family fights.

On Tuesday, the Florida agency discovered that McCready and the boy were not at her father's home and a judge ruled she must return him voluntarily by 5 p.m. Thursday or risk an arrest warrant.

Mindy McCready said she was under the impression that the Florida judge was transferring the custody case to Tennessee and that it wouldn't be a problem if she brought him there.

Since topping the country charts in the mid-1990s with her music, the singer's life has been filled with domestic abuse, drug arrests and a suicide attempt. In August, she filed the libel suit in Palm Beach County against her mother and the National Enquirer's parent company, American Media Inc., over a story published in the tabloid newspaper that quoted Inge.

McCready, whose son could be heard giggling on the other end of the line Wednesday as his mother spoke to the AP, said the father of her twins is a music producer named David who is supportive of her quest to regain custody of Zander.

Wednesday was Mindy McCready's 36th birthday.

"I hope that for my birthday, I get my son forever," Mindy McCready said.

Natalie Wood's mysterious death 30 years ago

A yacht captain said Friday that he lied to investigators about Natalie Wood's mysterious death 30 years ago and blames the actress' husband, Robert Wagner, for her drowning in the ocean off Southern California.

The circumstances of her death remain one of Hollywood's enduring mysteries, and homicide detectives on Thursday unexpectedly reopened the case that had long been classified as a tragic accident.

A Los Angeles County sheriff's detective will speak to reporters Friday about the decision to take another look at the Oscar-nominated actress' nighttime death in the chilly waters on Nov. 29, 1981. Wood drowned after spending several hours drinking on Catalina Island in a yacht with Wagner, fellow actor Christopher Walken and
the ship's captain, Dennis Davern.

Davern, skipper of the Splendour, told NBC's "Today" show on Friday that he made mistakes by not telling the truth about events leading to the death and had urged Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide investigators to reopen the case.

It is the latest attempt by Davern to change the official account of what happened in the hours before Wood's death.

"Was the fight between Natalie Wood and her husband Robert Wagner what ultimately led to her death?" show host David Gregory asked.

"Yes," Davern replied.

"How so?"

"Like I said, that's going to be up to the investigators to decide," the captain said after a long pause.

Davern said he believes Wagner intentionally kept the investigation into Wood's death low profile and didn't do everything he could have done.

Davern has said for years that the official account of Wood's disappearance was not what really happened, including in a 1992 appearance on a Geraldo Rivera special and in a 2000 Vanity Fair piece. He also worked with author and friend Marti Rulli on "Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour," a book released last year.

Wagner spokesman Alan Nierob said Friday a statement he released Thursday spoke for itself.

"Although no one in the Wagner family has heard from the LA County Sheriff's department about this matter, they fully support the efforts of the LA County Sheriff's Dept. and trust they will evaluate whether any new information relating to the death of Natalie Wood Wagner is valid, and that it comes from a credible source or sources other than those simply trying to profit from the 30 year anniversary of her tragic death," Nierob wrote in the statement.

Davern denied he was motivated to speak out for profit.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Thursday the renewed inquiry was prompted by unspecified new information about Woods' case. The Los Angeles Times reported that Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca said detectives want to talk to Davern and that he had "made comments worthy of exploring." The paper said the agency had also received information from an unidentified third party.

In the Vanity Fair story, Davern is quoted as saying that Wood and Wagner fought in their cabin before the actress disappeared. Coroner's officials ruled her death an accidental drowning, perhaps caused by her slipping off the boat while trying to tie down a dinghy.

She was found wearing a flannel nightgown, socks and a down jacket and Davern identified her body for authorities, according to an autopsy report. Her body had superficial bruises, according to the report, but those were considered consistent with drowning.

Her death sparked tabloid speculation that foul play was involved, but Wagner and Wood's sister have dismissed any suggestion the actress' death was anything more than an accident. Coroner's officials at the time agreed, writing that Wood was "possibly attempting to board the dinghy and had fallen into the water, striking her face."

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the agency hadn't been asked to do any additional investigation into Wood's case.

Sheriff's officials are hoping for tips from the public that may shed new light on how Wood, who was afraid of being in the water, ended up drowning.

Wood, a three-time Oscar nominee famous for roles in "West Side Story," ''Rebel Without a Cause" and other Hollywood hits, was 43 when she died. She and Wagner were twice married, first in 1957 before divorcing six years later. They remarried in 1972.

Lana Wood wrote in a biography on her sister, "What happened is that Natalie drank too much that night."

Wagner, star of the television series "Hart to Hart," wrote in a 2008 autobiography that he blamed himself for his wife's death.

He recounted the night of Wood's disappearance, during which the couple and Walken drank at a restaurant and on the boat. Wood went to the master cabin during an argument between her husband and Walken. The last time Wagner saw his wife, she was fixing her hair at a bathroom vanity and she shut the door.

Wagner wrote that despite various theories about what led Wood to the water, which she feared, it was impossible to know what exactly happened.

"Nobody knows," he wrote. "There are only two possibilities; either she was trying to get away from the argument, or she was trying to tie the dinghy. But the bottom line is that nobody knows exactly what happened."

Later in the book, Wagner wrote, "Did I blame myself? If I had been there, I could have done something. But I wasn't there. I didn't see her."

He wrote that he never saw his wife after she died and has never returned to Catalina Island.

Phone and email messages to Walken's publicist were not returned Thursday. Walken and Wood were co-stars in "Brainstorm," which was the actress' final big screen role.

Justin Bieber's baby?

A 20-year-old woman struck hard with Bieber fever filed a paternity suit against teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, claiming he lost his virginity to her backstage at a concert and fathered her three-month-old baby, Tristyn Anthony Markhouse Yeater. The suit seeks financial support.

But keep cool, Bieber fanatics, this is not just another example of true love gone sour. The suit says this all happened before Bieber's main squeeze, Selena Gomez, was in the picture.

Yeater testified in a California court, "On July 6, 2011, I gave birth to a baby boy. That was exactly 36 weeks and two days after the sexual encounter with Justin Bieber. Based upon the timing as well as the fact there were no other possible men that I had sex with that could be the father of this baby, I believe that Justin Bieber is in fact the father of my baby."

Bieber, 17, is, of course, denying the allegations. "It's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims," Bieber's rep said in a statement. "We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations." They also claim it would be impossible for Bieber to be alone backstage at a concert.

People reports that Yeater was whisked backstage by Bieber, who didn't want to use protection because it was his first time doing the deed. The magazine goes even further, claiming that Bieber's relations with Yeater could be construed as statutory rape. If the timeline on the lawsuit is correct, Bieber was only 16 when he and Yeater consummated their mutual attraction. The age of consent in California, where the suit was filed, is 18.

Is anyone else thinking what we're thinking? That this would make the best episode of "The Maury Show" ever?

We always thought of Bieber as centerfold poster of the tween set, so we're a little confused that a woman of Yeater's advanced years is a Bieber diehard. Then again, we also watched women uncomfortably close to our age swoon hard for the Canadian cutie in "Never Say Never," Bieber's better-than-we-thought-it-would be tour documentary. 12-year-old girls (and budding gay boys), you've got competition.

Justin is keeping calm, tweeting "all the rumors...the gossip....Im gonna focus on the positives....the music." He then linked to his new Christmas album that hit stores on Tuesday.

Could this all be a publicity-fueled rouse, an attempt for Justin to crossover into the adult market? In the Official Rock Star Rule Book that we just made up, you can't be an adult star until your first paternity suit.

LEONARDO DICAPRIO NEXT MOVIE

Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't always wind up starring in great movies-- Body of Lies was a total dud, and Blood Diamond a little less than great-- but he's got probably the highest batting average of any actor working in the last decade. Part of it is that he's constantly seeking out marquee directors to work with, from Clint Eastwood to Sam Mendes to his buddy Martin Scorsese, and part of it is that he has the power to pick good movies for himself, and he uses it. Soon he'll be starring as J. Edgar Hoover in Eastwood's titular biopic, then starring in another titular role in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, and then he's turning villainous for Quentin Tarantino in Django Unchained. And after all that, he'll head to Japan to give himself a little break.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has picked up Don Winslow's novel Satori specifically as a vehicle for DiCaprio as a man raised by a martial arts exert in Japan and caught in the country's post-World War II turmoil. It's a globetrotting thriller involving martial arts skills, secret government agencies and even the Corsican mob, and the studio reportedly sees it as a ...
potential "Jason Bourne-type action franchise." That's a buzzword that inevitably has to be tossed around any time anyone makes a spy thriller, but still, it seems especially relevant in this case.

Then again, DiCaprio has never really seemed to be a franchise kind of guy-- that would get in the way of him filling out his Great Living Director Bingo Card, don't you know. But who knows what kind of a change he might be up for if Satori turns out well. The only predictable thing about DiCaprio for the last 10 years has been his good taste in movies, so really, it seems crazy to assume anything about what he'll be doing 3 years from now. Are you guys ready to see him as the white martial arts hero you never knew you wanted?

OSCAR SEASON preview

2010 was a great year for films, and it may seem unlikely that this year could even compare. However, with such favorites as Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, and Clint Eastwood returning, the 2011/2012 awards season is sure to be exciting. The Oscar race typically begins in the fall, so now is the time to grab your popcorn and go to your local theater groups near me.

As the 2012 Academy Awards loom, the front-runners are already being made clear. Moneyball’s Brad Pitt already seems to be the critics’ favourite. And with the release of Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar trailer, people are already buzzing about DiCaprio, who has yet to win an Oscar despite his many nominations. His scenario is very similar to that of his Titanic and Revolutionary Road costar Kate Winslet, who received numerous nominations before finally winning Best Actress for The Reader. Eastwood is almost guaranteed another Best director nomination agreement; his recent, deeper, films have always pleased the critics. J. Edgar’s Armie Hammer will be standing alongside DiCaprio, as will the ever-impressive Judy Dench and ....
Naomi Watts.

Inglorious Basterds and Jane Eyre star Michael Fassbender is on a roll lately, and the upcoming A Dangerous Method only promises to further his fame. Method boasts a brilliant cast, including Keira Knightley, Black Swan’s Vincent Cassel, and Viggo Mortensen. Add to that an engaging storyline about two of psychology’s most fascinating men, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, and Method seems to be one of the most promising films of the year, sure to be filled with sexual frustration and confusing dreams. The film focuses on the complex relationship between Jung (Fassbender) and his mentor Freud (Mortensen). Knightley plays a russian women characteristics who is diagnosed with hysteria. She has yet to win an Academy Award, despite numerous strong performances including last year’s Never let Me Go, and a nomination for her role as Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice.

The Skin I Live In, a thriller featuring Antonio Banderas and centered on a plastic surgeon salary uk private who embarks on human experiments, may also be in the race. For shock value, Kevin Smith’s The Red State is providing plenty of buzz. Critically acclaimed actors Michael Angarano, John Goodman, and last year’s Best Supporting Actress Melissa Leo star in this film, which deals with the subject of over-the-top religion. The premieres for this movie swarmed with Westboro Baptist Church protesters, which can only help in boosting the film at the box office.

Despite his checkered past and the fact that he is unable to enter the United States, director Roman Polanski may be in this year’s race with the film version of the Broadway hit Carnage. The play originally starred James Gandolfini, Marcia Gay Hardin, Jeff Daniels, and Hope Davis; replacing them are a brilliant film cast which includes Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Inglorious Basterds star and Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, and John C. Reilly. The film genres and subgenres around two couples whose children get into a fight at school.

Director David Fincher (The Social Network and Fight Club) has hatched perhaps the most anticipated film of the year, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Called “the feel bad movie of the season,” by its own trailer, it stars Daniel Craig, Network’s Rooney Mara, and Stellan Skarsgård. This remake of the 2009 Swedish film revolves around a young computer hacker and a journalist searching for a missing woman. The original film succeeded in shocking critics and audiences, and Fincher will no doubt try to top it: he specializes in fast-paced filming and complex characters are best described as.

Finally, there is My Week With Marilyn starring Michelle Williams, Eddie Redmayne, and Kenneth Branagh. It will focus on Marilyn Monroe’s work on the 1956 film The Prince and the Showgirl. Despite coming from the likes of Dawson’s Creek, Williams has proven herself to be one of the most talented actresses around, with two Oscar nominations for Brokeback Mountain and Blue Valentine. This may be her year to join the ranks of Hollywood elite, which included her ex-fiancé and father of her child, the late Heath Ledger. The role of Monroe may have hit home with Williams, since the iconic actresses of hollywood's golden era died a young and much publicized death like Ledger.

Viewers should be excited for this season, as it is sure to be filmmaking at its best, with a rich mixture of mature and beijing new talent academy address to entertain all ages. After last year’s less than amusing hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco, people have high expectations for this year’s emcee Eddie Murphy. He is making a comedic comeback this year with Tower Heist, and the Academy Awards is the perfect place to prove to audiences that he is back and funnier than ever. So check out the above films this season, and tune in to the Oscars next spring to see how it all ends.
